Chopard’s Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph
June 4th, 2010
The century old watch brand, Chopard, which is noted for its pioneering accurate watch making technique, brushes up its image in the public by arousing the brave design of Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph. This series holds marvelous timekeeping function while absorbing in the audacious aesthtic concept.
The series is named after the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique vintage vehicle contest (a race that is supported by vintage vehicle lovers each two years, which raises more than 200 vintage vehicles from specially America, Britain, Germany, France and Italy, many famous brands like Bugatti, Delage and Alfa Romeo etc involved). As a partner of that race, Chopard specially fashioned a watch series, the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph series.
Aesthetically, the model of Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph is bold. The watch case is measured in 42.5mm, with a thickness of 14.9mm. Made of refined stainless steel or 18k rose gold, the watch case is graved with the marks of GPMH and Automobile Club de Monaco at the bottom. With the distinguishable silver color, the dail boasts black, orange or blue marking circle. As the bezel has blue, silver or orange marking circle, the dial has a good fitting in color for it. It is even more appealing with a genuine leather or refined stainless steel strap. The whole watch is such a marvellous piece.
Technically, Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph functions incredibly.. Driven by a mechanical self-winding mechanism, the watch could reserve power to 48 hours. It has passed the COSC authentication. It displays the hour, minute, and date all in the main dial. The second hand showcase is at 9 and the 30 minutes dial below 12 and the 12 hours timekeeping dial at 3. Compelling and pioneering as the watch is, it has its markings and pointers all coated with superluminova, enabling the clear visibility even at dark night.
With the above description, you could grasp a general idea of how audacious the watch is. But if you see the real timepiece by yourself, you will be more astounded.
